I contacted GE Capital CONS Cardco in Jan '03 regarding a $29 late fee, as well as finance charges on the late fees, i was being charge EVERY MONTH. A customer service representative explained that my payments had NEVER reached them by my due date.
I could not believe it. I've always sent my payments from Los Angeles, CA to Louisville, KY at least 7-10 days in advance. I ask to speak to a manager. It was useless because he refused to listen to my complaint or even give me his name.
He instructed me to write a letter to a POBox if i had a problem. Some customer service! I ask him for a department name/contact person at the POBox he had given me so that i could address my letter and he refused to give me that too... Telling me "it'll get to someone".
I was not happy with his answer and ask for his supervisor. He said he was the only supervisor and he would not allow me to speak to anyone else. I ask for the phone number to his parent company and he said the POBox was all he was going to give me and hung up. I called back a few times and continued to be transfered to the same manager. Finally, i ask a customer service rep if there was a reason i continued to be transferred to the same person and she said "per instructions on my account".
UNBELIEVABLE! I did write the letter and have had NO RESPONSE at this time. I went ahead and mailed my current payment super early, on 1/27/03... And to this date, 2/12/03, my payment has still not posted to my personal checking account. Fed up, i went to the internet to see if i could start paying them on-line and came across this "usacomplaints.com" and knew i had to warn other consumers. Please be careful when dealing with this company.
