Direct merchanst bank is a rip off. They lie all the time
they do illegal practices. I have had ana ccount with tem for about 4 years a ndthis has been 4 years of hell.
My most recent problem is - they jacked my interest rate to 29.99 this is crazy - I have made payments for a year w/out being late - recently went to the store to make a purchase - not aware it would send me over my limit. D. Merch bank let the purchase go through they could have declined it.
Anyway, then sent me lettter telling me i am over my limit. I am being charged over the limit fee every month and also i am also being charged this crazy interest rate.insite of two months I have paid them $ 700.00 but my bill remains unmanageable and not moving. This is crazy. They are rude when they call telling me I better send more money and when I tell them where am I gonna get it from they reponse they can post date the transcation. Oh boy - I made the mistake of doing this one time and they put it into my checking act a day early causing me a 30 overdraft fee.
Anyway, they are the pits also they told me that my card is for high risk - oh I think that was the case maybe 4 years ago - since them I have improved my scores and also have obtained several prestigous cards. This is craz. I want to just be done with them asap. So my advise to anyone is NEVR di business w. Them. They stink.
