Letter I wrote: Please be informed that I have recently found six (6) charges for $61.02 each on my debit card statements since August 20. I called your company and found out that these charges were supposedly for prepaid phone cards.
Never have I ordered prepaid phone cards, nor did I ever give any person permission to use my debit card Visa number to purchase them. After these charges appeared on my account, I began receiving insufficient funds notices from Sovereign Bank, where I have my checking account. There were a total of nine (9) charges for $30 each, totaling $270.00.
I called your company on January 7, requesting that these charges be removed from my account. I was told that the two (2) most recent charges have been credited back to my checking account, but I would have to speak to a supervisor to have the other four (4) credited back. When the supervisor called me back, she would not give her last name, and she informed me that she could only credit back one more recent charge.in addition to sending proof of these three credits, please credit my account for the other three charges, totaling $183.06, from the following dates:
August 22, September 12, and October 7. I also expect you to pay the $270.00 to cover the insufficient funds charges incurred as a result of the fraudulent charges by your company to my account. I have spoken to my bank and I have signed an affidavit against your company for the total amount of $636.12, which is the total amount fraudulently charged to my account ($366.12), plus the insufficient funds charges ($270.00) that incurred as a result.
I expect to be fully compensated for this occurrence, which was not only a huge inconvenience and created a hardship for me personally, but it is also a Federal offense that was committed by your company.
