National Pilot Academy, LLC advertises through their Website, Location Managers and radio about a training program which is very specific toward achieving certain pilot ratings (Private, Instrument, Commercial, Certified Flight Instructor, and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument) within a 4 month period. They will admit on the phone that sometimes it takes up to 6 months. The reality is that few students are able to get all of their certifications until more than a year passes.
The school requires new students to sign contracts for the training. The school also requires the students to pay for the program up front.in doing so, the students are trapped to stay at the school once they realize that the program they were sold into is nothing like was advertised and told to them. National Pilot Academy has neither the resources or the ability to uphold their advertising and provide the training program they advertise.
There are quite a few other things that are advertised on their website which are misleading. "CFI Pay rate is the best in the industry" when their CFI pay rate is one of the lowest in the industry.
The two main reasons for this complaint are to attempt to expose the false advertising practices of the company, National Pilot Academy, LLC. Second, to attempt to find a way to secure legal recourse against their deviant practices. Although they know there is no way they can uphold their advertised program, they continue to dupe people into paying them money for a service they can't provide. The contract is for a total of almost $60,000.
The only legal recourse that I have discovered might be of standing is that National Pilot Academy, LLC, does all the leg work in order for prospective students to receive funding from places such as Sallie Mae. At the time the funding is secured, the students have not signed a contract. Therefor it seems that since National Pilot Academy, LLC, acts on behalf of the students to secure funding, they are doing so under the pretense that the advertising the school provides is the basis upon which the funds are being secured.
