I had recieved and accepted an offer from First Premium Bank to build my credit rating. I deposited $500 and was allowed the same amount in credit. Early in 2002 I recieved an offer to increase my credit limit by $125 without any deposit but my credit card will be charged a one time fee. I declined. I decided to cancel my card and collect my deposit at the end of the year. To my utter surprise my card was billed another year's annual fee without my consent. I tried several times, after long waits, but was unable to have the issue resolved and my money back.
I plan to take the issue to the attorney general's office later.
Arizona Finance Co coerced me into paying $535 over payment on my car insurance Premiums. I took the issue to the relevant State authorities and they agreed to refund me the amount. After 10 months and several letters they have not even acknowledged my existance. Just in case you are wondering how they got me to pay the extra, they quoted that amount in excess what the insurance company charged, excluding their fees, after I recieved the Insurance notice, Arizona threatened to cancel my vehicle insurance if the full amount is not paid.
I recieved a bill for over $200 for overseas calls never made to or from my phone. Even though I had moved 14 months from that address and my number was changed. They have since reported me to the credit agencies, to whom I have explained the issue thoroughly. I will never pay it.
MCI has always been my long distance and international carrier. Since January I was being billed for a number that do not existed, along with my regular number. They refused to refund the extra charges or transfer it to my regular number.
Aren't there anyway we can report these issues to the Credit Reporting companies. Or, maybe they are part of the game to bugger the little guy.
