I left Winston-Salem State University in disgust (for the second time) in May. I was supposed to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Music Business
Management and Marketing but was told that I would not graduate only days before graduation. When I left i had 143 credit hours toward a degree that requires on 128 hours. Granted I had a lot of transfer hours but in the four years I was there (the second time) I was never provided anything in writing that told me what I needed to take to graduate. Also, the music faculty make
students take many more classes that are necessary to graduate. I was told by my advisor, the chair of the department and the dean of the department (with witnesses) that all students must take four years of major instrument to graduate.
The university catalog clearly states that there are three years required to graduate. When I pointed this out to the faculty I was berated and dismissed as
a troublemaker. Three years later and finally the school attorney has stated that there are three years of major instrument to graduate. I have not been offered
any solution from the faculty that would not require me to take classes that are not required by the catalog. I am a forty year old man and this is the worst situation I have ever witnessed in my life. Horrible customer service! Liars! Liars! Liars! Stay away from wssu!!!
