We received what appeared to be a bill from our local phone company, Qwest. The format, coloring and logo were nearly identical to the bill for our phone service. It was so deceiving, my boss even filed it under "bills to be paid".
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that it was not acutally a bill, but a solicitation to advertise using the Yellow Pages Plus/411-on-the-net service. The portion that you ripped off and sent in with payment (like you would a bill) was acutally an agreement to start service.
This type of mail solicitation where companies imitate legitimate buisiness correspondence formats should be illegal. It is a misrepresentation that I'm sure has fooled many!
