I found some random charges on my bank statement from ShopperDiscounts and ReservationRewards for $10 each during two different months. The transactions did not seem familiar to me so I emailed my bank about the transaction. They informed me that it was a MasterCard purchase... Which I knew I had not made.
I'm assuming they stole my card number from somewhere off the internet. On reading other stories about "shopperdiscounts", I learned that people who had an actual opportunity to talk to the company said that they signed up for it while making an online purchase. Another person claimed they clicked on something that said they'd receive a discount on their next purchase by following a link which ends up transferring your credit card info. I'm assuming I got caught in that from a misleading redirection after buying some posters online.
Anyhow, I called both companies (which i believe are the same thing, shopperdiscounts and reservationrewards) and of course, the phone number goes nowhere due to phone line "maintenance". Yeah Right. So I'm calling my bank to report the fraudulent charges.
