My best friend quit a good job to go to work for D.K. Distributors escentially as a private contractor who was to do 13 demonstrations to get paid $500.00
After that for each A type sale he was to get $130.00 commission. The 13 demos had to be done in one week and were and he sold one vacume uner Type A pricing. At the end of this period the manager claimed they were going bankrupt and let everyone go and stated they could not pay anyone.
I checked with the Attorney General's Office and the Labor board for him and founf out that he must have a Dealer Contarct that he signed at the start of working there and I had him call and get a copy of it. He told me they had given no one a copy of anything at the time of signing. He got a copy and it set forth the policy stated previously.in purusing the want ads my friend came across an ad and when he called it was D.K. Distributors. They were restaffing and up and running again, less than two days later. Obviously they never planned on going bankrupt but just didn't plan on paying anyone. This is a sleazy outfit as many of Kirby Distributors are reported to be. Also, during his time with this distirbutor he noticed how they would clean up old demos to look like new and send them out to be sold to unsuspecting customers as new vacumes. Some of them were refubished or repaired and had been in use at management's homes.
