I graduated from AIU, with honors, even made the deans list almost every 5 weeks. I made the National Deans List. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I found out that where I am located they do not accept an online degree. I would have to attend an actual college. When I called AIU to tell them this I was only told "wow, we didn't know of this". After calling Sallie Mae, where I got the loan to go to college, they told me they had been hearing these kind of reports from many different students. I have had numerous Sheriffs Deputies and Police Officers also tell me that AIU is not an accredited school. If this is the case then why are they still continuing to give degrees? I saw that they were on probation and also showed thier accredation online, on the actual website. I feel as though there are many students that have been taken advantage of by this supposedly accredited college. If someone can help me do what I need to do about this situation, it would be greatly appreciated. I owe $43,000.00 to Sallie Mae for a degree I can't use, why would I want to pay for it? It is worthless. I am so angry, and I feel completely taken advantage of.
