Initially I was like many of you, completely pleased with Kaplan University's quality of education, so much so, I completed my A.S. With them and decided to continue onto my B.S. At first I thought it was a bit expensive to pay $350.00 a unit and odd to not receive a text book after I re-enrolled. But when the next term came around and followed suit with "on-line handouts, " it became apparant that they were cutting corners. I figured I could overlook this, the school is going through some transitions apparantly.

Halfway through my second term I attempted to contact my instructor to coordinate late work turn in times. No response, a second, third, and fourth email sent... Still no response.By this time I'm thinking, "I need to drop this class, the instructor is negligent." I attempt to contact my academic advisor, no response, again I resnd the inquiry but this time a response received advising me that they are no longer my advisor.

I am redirected to my "new" advisor and no reponse again. Unbelievably, I manage to receive zero responses as a total of three academic advisors transition one right after the other. I called student services and was sent to voice mail after voice mail but no one was able to help me. I end up frustrated and disgusted that I paid that amount of money for an extremely low quality of education.

My other class I am enrolled in seems to just float right by. Business management is a breeze when there are virtually no assignments to complete and of course no text book to read through. Of course the assignments I did turn in miraculously came back with "A's." How cool is that! I'm really not learning anything at that point but I'm getting As!

What finally threw me over the edge was when I received a collection call from Kaplan University's student services advising my tuition was due. I'm baffled, balance due, how can that be? I applied for FAFSA and received approval from them before I even enrolled. I called financial aide and they said my FAFSA was not processed but could not tell me why and promised to look into it and get back to me. Not surprised, no phone call was ever returned. This eventually led me to work with one person in the financial aide department who could only tell me that I had to apply with a private lender at that point.

In good faith I asked her to defer collection calls as none of this was my fault. I did what I was instructed to do and am showing good faith by working with her to resolve the situation. She never responds to my request for assistance with updating my accout but instead ignores me like all the others. Two weeks later I receive a collection notice from Pinnacle Financle Group advising me my whole term's tuition is due in full. Sure, let me pull $3,175.00 out of my pocket!

I'm still baffled at how I could manage to go an entire term with no financial aide and have no one notify me. How can no one notice that! How many people would you think worked in their accounting department... No one noticed? I guess when considering the growing number of complaints posted to this site it should really be of no surprise.

If anyone is contemplating forming a lawsuit, please count me in! This school is nothing but a degree mill and I feel that my education received was a far cry from quality! Shame on them!
