Last May I saw this very large Ad in a free paper called the LA Weekly. It was a web design company so I called it. A partner and myself were looking for a sophisticated smart web person to create a model review site for us that would be a paid members only site.
I was set an appointment to go to his office and have a "round table conference meeting" I was proposed a fee to the cost and got it in writing. A deposit was requestesd of $500.00. A few weeks went by and I was asked for more money to pay the design people. He asked for $1500.00 more. When I got home I looked at my reciept andit was not correct it said I paid him $450.00 Ryan Blackman said he would mail me a new one.
The product was not delivered and 5 months went by and still no page and a ton of excuses ie: his programmer quit, he had a emergency to tend to, etc etc. We were promised the site to be up by Aug 10 and on top of that he said he was going to pay us 10% back in a check for the delay. We then discovered he charged the credit card not only $3372.00 but an additional $800.00 claiming the merchants made a mistake.
After time went by Ryan Blackman was ordered to have the product complketed or we would reverse the payment on Monday September 2nd. He said the site would be complete and over several conversations I was actually told the site ws complete and to proceed wit IBill for banking info for the site. I looked at the web page and it was not complete.
After discussing it with my partner we agreed on my going back to Tech Optic as requested by Ryan Blackman to discuss what the site needs and that contracts needed to be signed before the launch of the site. I went back and Ryan Blackman was not in his office and his worker did not know I was comming there. When I arrived I was told by his worker that he had alot of other projects to work on. He said he had no iea what was going on and I asked him why he as not answeringme when I spoke to him the day before. He said because he got hit by a car.
He stated his wrist was injured as he typed on his keyboard rapidly to open up the unfinished web page of ours. I requested that since the site was not going to be complete and because we paid the amout of money that we had, that he deliver the HTML and design to me to complete myself. He agreed that was fair and showedme how to finish my own site and handed my a CD tellingme everything I needed to finish my site was on the disk and we wote a statement that he signed and other office ersonell witnessed.
Upon my return home I was ready to finish the job myself. To my suprise there was no html file info and there was nothing to drop content into. It was all my content that I had typed up for the web page that I sent to him. I contacted my partner and told him what was givin to me. He called Ryan Blackman and Ryan told him we get what we paid for. Now Ryan Blackman is using an unfinished product to display on his web site to the public an uinfinished product tht he claims he worked on.
I am requesting all deposit money back and on top of that damages for both my partner and myself. My quote to this situation is hey if you were going to rip us off at least take someof the money we paid you and take a class to teach you dumb ass how to work on a web site. I got a parking ticket wasting my time in his office with his lieing staff and when yo see his site Techoptic.com be sure to locate all his small and dynamic posts that he says he created which he probably never realy did at all. Ryan Blackman and his team are nothing but manipulating liars who take money from people and will not deliver product.
