I attended Parks College just as they where changing their name to Everst College. I had bought my books, attended my first semester, passed with some of the best grades for my degree tha semester, started to buy my books for the next semester, and then I had a family emergency in Missouri that had to take me there to care for my family. On my return in November, I had left about middle of October, I started to get collection notices from Everest College saying I owed 1600.00. I called to find out why, they told me its because you did not return and that we had to send back your grants and pells. 400 for the books that I bought for the semester I didnt attend, which is ok I fell that I owe for those anyways, but 1200 for the semester I did attend. When I signed up I was told everything was being payed for and that I didnt have to worry about paying a penny.
I dont understand why my money was sent back if it was to pay for my degree. Now I am getting collection calls from Global Exceptance saying if I dont pay they will garnish my wages.
I called Everst College again to try to find out what is going on. They still say I owe 1600.00. Grrrrrrr!!
