Joe Perkins - I Sold Grandma's Stuff
Predator of bereaved families ripoff Internet, Pascoag Rhode Island

I write this with eyes welling. My family has fallen prey to this hideous man and his company. My parents who spent a lifetime working and taking care of my grandmother and had finally found the strength to let go of generations of acumulated stuff. We found him on the internet as as Shiela from Stoneham indicated.

The the very man who conducted an estate sale at my Grandmothers house in June and we also to find had the exact same experience with him.

Unfortunately, this information came too late to save my family from the same heartache that Deirdre of Arizona or Shiela from Stoneham MA described in her report.

We also found Joe Perkins through the Internet. My Grandma had passed away and because there was so much in the house, my parents and siblings decided we would have an estate sale. He came to my grandmother's house to meet with My mom and my dad in May to decide if we were 'estate-worthy' and to discuss the aspects of an estate sale; i.E. How did he price (said he had 'experts' to do that), did he barter or set prices (set prices), did he inventory the items (said he had done it numerous times for estate attorneys), etc. His commission was to be 30% of the total and this fee would include advertising, inventory of all items sold, setting up tables, display cases, and providing clerks to set out and collect the money for the items.

We decided on the weekend of June 9th for the sale. I attend the sale on Saturday as this was a very difficult for me to face seeing strangers buying my families things. We spoke with Joe Perkins at the end of the weekend. He told us $8000.00 had been collected for the sale.

At the end of the sale Joe Perkins brought on Anthony and Dorita Morris of Lakeville, MA as auctioneers they took 66 items mostly big ticket items that did not sale at the estate sale and were to be auctioned off. He promised that the combined amount from the sale and the future auction would be sent in a check to my Dad. (sound familiar?). He told me and my family would be receiving a check in about a week as he had to wait for the checks to pass through the bank.

After calling him a couple of times, he returned my call and explained that the check was late because he had been on the road and was on the way to fedex. Lier! The fedex never came he has still not made any contact! Anthony and Doruta Morris the acuctioneers have claimed they paid him and have yet to resolve to us the total amounts of what was sold.

I will not rest until we find him! Please help!

It is not just the money Joe Perkins absconded with that upsets my entire family. It has been an emotional blow on top of the tremendous loss of our beloved grandmother and the difficult decision we made to sell things that my parents had spent a lifetime accumulating.

Like Deirdre and Sheila, I hope this saves a family from putting their trust in a con artist like we did.

Shame on you, joe perkins you are the lowest kind of human. You will get what you deserve.
