My wife bought me a computer from an on-line vendor. She 2was under the impression the rebate was direct with the vendor. When we received the computer, we contacted the vendor and were referred to the OnRebate site for filing the rebate request.
When I Googled it, the info from complaint was right under their site link. As a result, I was especialy careful to send them exactly what the specified. Even so, they managed to screw me out of the rebate, claiming that I had not sent the original barcode from the shipping document (I did).
I spoke with their representative and was told there was nothing they could do. We finally contacted the vendor, and they agreed to resolve the problem.
We are not buying anything else that involves a mail-in rebate. Most of them are scams. They rely on the fact that many people don't submit them, and when submissions are rejected, most people give up. Result... The rebate company pockets your rebate. Neat, huh? These people should wear masks when they're working.
