I did not sign up for the Columbia House DVD club and I received a package with a DVD and a bill stating that I signed up for the club. I tried calling their "800" number to speak with someone - only to be led in a loop of the "please press this number" for this and that and no press this number to speak to an actual person. I then noticed that I received emails telling me that I signed up for the club - I had ignored these since I did not think it meant anything.
I have also emailed them telling them that I did not join the club and I refused to pay for the DVD and would report them. I am angry that any company can get away with this. I did not confirm my club membership on their damned web site - just went there to get a customer service email address.
It is my understanding that if an unwarrented package is delivered to you - that it is the senders responsibility - Is this true? Also, from reading other people having experienced the same thing as I have - I think that a class action suit should filed - Where do I sign up - This is incomprehensible and they should not be allowed to do this.
