I contacted Credit Solutions to see if they could help us consolidate 4 of our high interest credit cards. They said they could and offered an enticing low monthly payment so I filled out all the paperwork.
Then after speaking to them several times, I finally found out that we would have to stop paying our creditors who would then turn us over to a collection agency and Credit solutions would then negotiate a lower payoff for us. All the while our credit would be ruined and we were at risk for lawsuits, etc. Also we would be responsible for saving up the payoffs ourselves, then paying each creditor as soon as we had the required payoff saved up. This would take months while the creditors would be after us for payment.
This sounded insane, so I called them and told them that I wanted to cancel the serviced (we had not yet paid them) On March 5 I faxed a notice of Cancellation and called to confirm that it was received and they reassured me we were "disengaged" from their service and nothing would happen.
Well, I now find out that Credit solutions went ahead against our will and contaced our creditors, changed our mailing address and phone to theirs and as a result we were not receiving our bills and one possibly two of the accounts went to collection.
When I called Credit Solutions to find out why they did this, they denied doing anything and confirmed that they received the cancellation notice.
I again spoke to my creditors and they again confirmed that Credit Solutions was contacting them.
When I tried calling Credit Solutions I could not get through — I finally found a number on the website and after a dozen tries through their new customer line got through to someone.
They then told me that it takes "72 hours to disengage and change everything back to our info" once the Cancellation notice is received. This is an outright lie — the notice was received by them on March 5 and they contacted our creditors on March 12 and they did not contact them to change our info back.
They did not seem to care in the slightest that they screwed up our credit with these companies. I have had to close two accounts and I am still trying to straighten out the problem with 2 others. I still don't know what their goal is — we have not paid them a dime and I now fear they will access our checking accounts and remove money or somehow get control of our credit accounts.
Do not give any info to these people! They are a true scam and will screw up your lives!
It is a horrible nightmare all caused by Credit Solutions.
