Ordered (diet) pills from Pure Energy Products online in either August or September, '06 to try for free shipping charges of $4.95. I charged it to my credit card. I Did Not Agree To Any Other Charges nor did the Ad refer to any other charges nor did the Ad reference any other commitments. Received some pills and, as it happens, I was unable to use the product. There was never any follow-up from the company.
Within a couple of weeks, I received in the mail to my PO Box a supply of pills for which I was charged (COD)$4.95 for shipping. When I realized who it was from, I returned package unopened plus, of course, postage to re-send of $4.95. Once I saw that I was charged for the product (unlawfully) on my credit card I disputed it with my credit card company, who credited the amount charged of $149.95 to me. After unsuccessfully trying again to charge my credit card I thought that was the end of it.
On January 10 I received a letter from a collection agency telling me that they represented Pure Energy Products and that I owed $296.93. I have called and disputed this charge with them and sent them a follow-up letter stating that this was a fraudulent charge. I have also turned them into the BBB and they have not had a reponse from them. I believe they were going to turn it into the Attorney General's Office. Originally contacted Pure Energy Products by email, by phone and by letter.
I have copies of all the correspondence and dates of contact.
Pure Energy Products still advertises on the internet (product is Phentrazine) via Healthy Living@Helloteams and Ad Still Does Not reference additional charge for future product once you order the 15 day trial for $4.95, which is what they claim!
