Interstate Subscription Services
They steal your money, don't deliver the product and treat their employees awfully. Ripoff

This incident happened to me a while ago, but I just found the contact information today. After searching through various websites I discovered a lot of disturbing information about this company.

It seems I was one of many customers that was scammed. I placed an order for two magazine subscriptions on December 2 that I never received. My husband and I didn't notice this until the middle of 2006 because one of the magazines was a renewal and the other was a magazine that he actually got a trial for from somewhere else. (We knew we had ordered a men's magazine but weren't sure which.) When we started receiving these magazines and we kept receiving the other one, we assumed they were from ISS.

When Maxim stopped showing up we called subscription services to find out why and they confirmed that it was because the trial had ended and there was no other subscription in place.

Then we called the subscription services for the other magazine and was told that our previous subscription was much longer than we thought and there was no renewal in place for it.

Obviously, ISS took our money and never placed the order. We just now found the receipt we got at the time and my research on line led me to find out horrible things. The people they hire are misled and treated as slaves. They are told they'll earn a lot of money and get to travel a lot and that if things don't work out, they'll pay to send them back where they came from. They are taught to lie to their customers about what they are selling and what it's for.

The rep that came to my door was a young college age girl that told us she was in a contest to earn points to go to Italy. She told us they dropped her and her friends off somewhere on the military base we live on and they weren't getting picked up until later that night. It was cold out, she said she hadn't eaten all day and asked for a glass of water. We felt bad for her and figured it was a worthy cause so we bought two subscriptions without knowing how much we'd be charged. We had no idea we'd end up paying $100 for two subscriptions!

Their policy is that if you want to cancel you have THREE days to write in to them and request it. We had no idea it would turn out like this.

I understand that some of the former employees are planning a class-action lawsuit against the company. If there is any way I can help out with this, please notify me!

I would love to get my money back, lord knows we could use it, but so far I haven't found a way to do that. I'll keep trying and update this if anything happens.
Everyone BEWARE of a college student coming to your door telling you about the contest they're in for a trip or to earn money for school.
