GotPoetry - Aka John Powers another example of a money making operation under the cloak of public service ripoff Michigan Nationwide

I am a hobby poet with two charity related poetry books published.in fact all the profits go to various charities in my part of the country. Recently I joined this poetry site on the net. At first I believed I have joined a great site until being on the site for a short time. The owner of the site kept insisting that I rate other poets work, which I did not do at the beginning. I am not one to just give high ratings for trash, which the majority of work on this site was. The so called moderators of the site, so called assistant administrators did not even rate in the sixty of poets on the site where a requirement for rating required ten poems posted.

I was quickly found personal attacks against me on the site for my ratings which were fair and rendered in a civil way. I was met with foul lanquage on this site by many of the posters, including the very moderators of the site. Of the so called two thousand poets on the site, basically the first fifty poets on the site have work posted of worth including my own at the time. At closer inspection I found the site was all about the money.

Those who were moderators indicated that they paid their way into so called power on the site in judging decent poet's work. It is my belief after a short period if you do not upgrade in costs to some benefit of the site or give a donation, the site personnel try to find a way to run you off. I of my own will asked for my account to be closed. The appearance of the site looks appealing but it is my suggestion to avoid membership in www.GotPoetry.com.By so doing you avoid being associated with a bunch of foul-mouthed posters, possible child hunters, queers seeking boy friends and those who are no more poets than a "talking sidewalk" would be.
