This company bought a bad debt that is 7 years old and "re-aged" it by dating it as a 2004 debt. I have documented proof of the last activity from 1999. I have disputed with the credit bureaus and sent certified-return-receipt-requested letters to the company and its subsidiaries and copied the Attorney Generals in California and Georgia. The letter I sent disputes the debt under the FDCA and demands everything I can think of if they don't remove the debt from my report.
I have had no success thus far. I am going to sue and have an attorney interested, but that will take a while. I've also started faxing the company my dispute letter every other day!
Does anyone have any suggestions on other things I can do to attack this company?
Thanks.
