I'm a recent college graduate and I'm very disappointed about LaGuardia Community College. I can't stand people complaining about private schools, and not to complain about public schools like the City University of New York CUNY.
I can tell you Community Colleges are not worth the TIME. I'd prefer to spend more money, but graduate at a decent amount of time. I see so many people at LaGuardia Community College for more than SIX (6) years Or even More just to get a simple Associates degree in "liberal Arts" that's the type of degrees they offered the most, which is USELESS, a complete Joke.
That's completely ridiculous and you know why? Because all the bureucracy and state exams that they have, their "business" I heard of people repeating the same courses for more than three times; and they just keep making up more "exams" to keep failing students so that they have to repeat the subjects again and again until they can pass and then continue with more courses. They don't give reasons why you failed, they only tell you if you pass or fail. People learn from mistakes, right?
They don't have the decency of letting you know about your mistakes, so there's no way to know what was good and what wasn't on the exams.
Their Financial Aid is a circus, disorganized and slow.
A very painful experience for anyone considering this type of school. I just recommend you to go upstate for a SUNY school or just go to a private school.
Even better just relocate to another state, move to a better place. You'll see the difference.
