Cant believe how often this has happened; I was offloading my car at 5th and *midtown* and a white bravada-like SUV asked me for directions to the midtown tunnel; I told him how to get there; he asked me if I speak Italian, I said no; he asked me what am I doing here, I told him and he told me he needed help; he pulled over and told me his story:
He just finished at the javits center and his boss gave him a bonus of jackets which he had no room for as he was heading to Milano from JFK at 0400AM; he needed to get rid of them: offered 2 black leather jackets and some tan piece of crap 3 jackets for 1/2 price of 1 jacket which would have been $600; I told him "hell no" and said the most I can give him is $150; he said "for me, my friend, ok!" "you now have a friend in Italy; he also told me his jacket was too small; (thought this was a little suspicious since he was my size) also he gave me his business card with an email address of "giianniitaly@. It"; I even asked him what kind of email was this? He repeated something in italian, pointing to his card, and I didnt really care at that point. Jackets seem of great quality and I needed 1 jacket anyway; was hoping to sell my other jacket though; I filed a police report 1 hour after the incident. I am sure he probably reads this, so I can assure him that some day he will be caught due to his greed, but thanks for the deal anyways on the 2 jackets!
He kept on saying giorgio armani, I supsoected something was up when I got back and saw no "armani" on the jacket what-so-ever.
Weird.
This happened at around 10 PM; filed a report around 11 PM; maybe something will come of it; dont really care 2 quality jackets for 150 aint bad;
