I signed up with a web service a few months ago to meet people of the same ilk as myself.in the process, I received some replies that raised a red flag and I felt I needed to let others know.
The replies I received were from three women in Africa that told me they were interested in corresponding. It sounded strange, why would they be interested in me?
When I replied to their messages, I got nearly identical repies from each of them. Seems because of civil war, their parents were killed and they had to flee to Senegal. It seems they each had rich parents that have large sums of money and they need my help to get to this money.
I replied to one of the letters just to see if they were legit, only telling them of my favorite music and movies but there reply came back with no mention of these things, only about helping them out.
I have not pursued this further as I smell a rat but I have not blocked their IP address in cases someone wants to pursue this. Has anyone else come accross this?
