Questions/comments From A Prospective Student possible rippoffs from other students

Hi, I am a prospective student whomay be transferring to UOP online to began classes really soon. I was up all morning earlier reading all of the alleged ripoff activities of this university. I felt confident in attending this college until i read these posts. I am in no way saying that what happened to the majority of deceived people isn't true, I am only saying that I am now rethinking my position on enrolling now.

I do agree that the cost of classes at this institution is high and that seems to be a main point in many of these points. I would rather not take the chance on repaying gov't loans to a institution if my degree is worth nothing and if my financial aid is not enough to cover tution and books.

I was told that my books would be no higher than $60 and that the classes are $1200. That it would take 3 weeks to get financial aid and that will cover my tuition and books. That if I received $6625 in financial aid, It would cover my tuition but not my books. Now which is it? Am I imagining things or was that a contradiciton on their part?

I also askedabout these posts from my academic advisor and was told that many former students may have had bad esperiences and that I wasn't the only one who asked her about these posts today.

All I am concerned about is whether my degree will be recognized by companies once i graduate IF I were to enroll in UOP online and that I won't get stuck with a huge bill and large student loans to pay back. I would rather go to school online as so I can spend more time with my children so if anyone out there can recommend other, accredited online colleges... It would be appreciated because I don't know what I am going to do now as far as UOPis concerned.
