AT-Financial Resouces - Global Financing Foundation - Christina Valentine - Stratus
International Insurance ripoff, took agreed $ for insurance policy and then demanded more before offering the promised loan West Indies

I was contacted at work by Christina Valentine back in May - 2006 - claming that I was approved for a $5000 loan. She left her phone# of 877-208-6230 and when I called - she told me that due to my not owning property, or owning a car with no lein - that I had to secure an insurance policy to cover the loan payments should anything happen. First I was told they were out of Connecticut (since I am from Mass) but the home office is in Jamaica and that is where the funds would be sent from so I had to send them to a: Charmaine Campbell @ 178 King Street - Kingston, jamaica and send it via a Money Gram.

Being desperate and being promised the loan once insured - I was hooked, needed the large sum to pay bills and did what was asked.

I then received my "legal and binding documents" quoting this Christina Valentine that the loan was approved, what my monthly payments would be for 18months and included the copy of the inusrance company - which was Stratus Internationa Insurance Co. @ 187 King ST. - West Kingston Jamaica. It welcomed me to the organization and everything.

On Tuesday, May 22nd - I spoke with a Mr. Thomas in "processing" and he comfirmed my information and that the funds were being transferred - could take up to 3 days but would be in my account be late that Friday - may 26th.

All was well, loan was promised to me by that Friday, started scheduling payments and then low and behold. I come home from work on Thurday night the 25th and a message from a "David Rogers" was on my home answering machine stating that "there was a problem with my loan, the insurance agent reconsidered her original approval and now wanted more money from me in order to secure the loan. The original agreement was for $560 and the additional amount they claim to need was $600 or I would not get my loan.

I already gave them every penny I had and borrowed thinking I could pay everyone back after I got the loan. If I had $1160 to start with - I wouldn't have been asking for a loan.

I told the man, David rogers, that I did not have the additional money and then he claimed he could put me on the "NET" and see if another lender would take my loan. I was already out the money so I would try anything at this point. He then stated that if nothing else came in that I could have a complete refund of the $560 and it would take 30 days.

I never received any rewritten documents after the fact even though I had asked for it! I made multiple calls from work and from home to David Rogers @ 876-418-2387 which is definitely not local I found out too late and my phone bill will reflect this.

On May 31, I again spoke with that David Rogers and told him that I want my money back so go ahead with the refund process and I would be expecting it in the 30-day period. I asked if I needed to fill out anything and he said "NO" and I have been waiting since.

I have left repeated voice messages at the 876-418-2387# where the voice of that Mr. Thomas who originally told me my funds were bing transferred was recorded. I again have my home phone bill to prove how many times I tried calling and I know I could probably get records from work too - will definitely get into trouble but I could do so if needed.

I just tried calling that # again and the same message is on the machine with the same voice - that Mr. Thomas' voice.

The website and main# don't seem to be allowing me to dian through but that last # still works.

Can anyone help me or is anyone else going up against this scam?
Please help!
