I responded to a website advertisement for a listing of foreclosed homes in my area. I feel as if I was "baited and switched, " duped and taken advantage of. I never did receive any listing for homes.
I was led to believe that for $8.95, I would receive a listing of foreclosed homes in my area.instead, I received $297.00 worth of real estate course books in the mail. I was to keep the books for a 30-day trial
period. My credit card would be charged $297.00 if I elected to keep the books. The initial $8.95 was to cover the books' shipping costs. I immediately returned the books via FEDEX and strongly advised the
company not to charge my credit again. I also asked for a refund for the $8.95. I never did receive any listing for foreclosured homes, as desired.
I feel this practice is dishonest, sneaky and
underhanded.
Again, I returned the books almost mmediately and the company went ahead and charged my credit card for the $297.00. I continue to wait for my refund.
