IADT overpriced poor accreditation dishonest scam ripoff uncertified teachers

I withdrew from this school after trying two of their programs. Both programs consisted of unqualified teachers with little to no idea how to create a lesson plan or properly educate students. General education classes consisted of busy work and unchallenging assignments.

After a few years of working and community college I decided that I needed to get a more focused education. I wanted to relocate and find a school that was more career oriented. I found IADT Tampa while searching online. I was contacted by them and was snagged by a very sweet talking admissions rep that made the school seem like a haven of opportunity.

But when I finally started the school I started to notice an extreme lack of planning and structure. Classes would either end hours early with nothing accomplished or go on for hours accomplishing the same amount of nothing. The first program I was in was digital production. My first class, Digital Movie Making 1, had absolutely no lesson plan and a teacher who did nothing more than search through the internet and take smoke breaks every 30 minutes. He had no idea how to teach a class. This isnt acceptable when the school is charging more than $1400 a class.

This ruined all hopes for this program but rather than ditch the school I decided to switch to the photography program... I had after all moved all the way from MD to attend the school. I experienced the same problems with the majority of the classes with this program too. Plus I find that the accreditation of the school isnt regional and classes wont transfer out anywhere. Not even the gen eds.

Also the school has no acceptance standards. As long as they get money they'll let in anyone. The admissions reps are nothing more than sales reps filling students with empty hopes.

The school charges more than most state universities and just about as much as most high end private institutions. But they don't teach anything that can't be learned from buying a book and a computer program. After only 3 semesters my debt racked up to almost 17000 dollars with the interest rates shooting up thanks to the profit bearing Sallie Mae.

After withdrawing I met with the dean and she told me that they require no certifications for their teachers. This blew my mind.

Being charged this much for such an unsatisfactory education is deplorable.
