Hi, I'm not sure if this is where I would write this, but I have a story for you. Normandy Health and Fitness in Ellicott City Mayland. They will not let you cancel a gym membership.
I signed up for a gym membership for a month to month membership.in order to cancel, I was required to send a certified letter in the mail. I did this in April. I was told in April that I would be charged one last time on May 1st. I agreed to it and was charged on May 1st. I even got a letter in the mail in May stating that I had cancelled and would not be charged ever again.
Flash forward to today. My account has just be withdrawn a membership fee from my checking on June 1st and now not only is my account under, but I am left with absolutely no money for the weekend. No money = no food.
I call the gym and I am told by "Adam" that there is nothing he can do. He says that though he is in charge he does not handle billing and the people in charge of billing are on "vacation" this weekend. I explain to Adam that I will not eat this weekend I need his help I need this money put back in my account asap. He tells me I have to call back in on Monday.
He then asks me how old I am as he is laughing at me... I am in tears saying "Please please help me, can you call someone please?" He says that he is not going to call someone when they are on vacation. I will have to wait until Monday. I say that I am coming to the gym for them to give me $ out of their cash register. He says "You can come here if you want, but there is no money for you here". Now I am supposed to stay hungry until Monday morning because "Adam" refuses to call someone for me and will not give me a number to call them.
And apparently this is how they work. You cancel and cancel and cancel and it's never cancelled. I wish to god I would have known this was going to happen because I am completely broke for two days now.
You need to warn people about this place, I am not the only one they have done this to, it is a scam.
