I made the unfortunate mistake of ordering magazines from Publishers Clearing House on the Internet. Once I put in my address and phone number for my orders, I was presented with numerous webpages of advertisments. At the bottom of most pages was a button to click that said " no thanks" and then off to the next page. Well, before I knew it I had clicked on a button that said " if you're through click here"!
I quickly noticed that my address and phone number had appeared on a form on that page. Well, apparently I had just clicked the button to sign up for this "PRIVACY PLUS VOICE MAIL". I wasn't sure what I just did, until the next day I received a welcoming call from ROCTEL... I was able to get an agent on the line and immediatly cancel the service. At least that's what I thought was going to happen. They said I would get an email about my cancelation. Never did.
I just got my Quest phone bill and to my surprise... A charge of $14.95 for ROCTEL. I immediatly called the the phone number on that page for ESBI or BILLVIEW... (1-888-302-3724) whichever it is. I did talk to someone and told them that I tried canceling that service already and apparently it didn't happen. She said it was their mistake and that she will cancel it and I would get an email (I heard that before!)... And my bill will be reimbused after 2 billing cycles.
So, I'm frigin stuck paying this twice before I see a refund... If any!!!
Lesson learned... Don't ever got to Publishers Clearing House website!!! Even if you think you'll be lucky and win the million dollars!: (
