Well i worked at this company for 2 1/2 years. I handled the ordering of materials, accounts payable, ran the entire company while the owner and his faimly went on vacation. Dealt with multiple vendors, finding the best price on materials, entered and processed orders, recieved purchase orders and processed for payment to vendors. Answered phones, entered purchase orders from the subcontractors to ensure they were correct and accepted them and entered them to be paid.
I ordered materials for homes to be roofed after being given the type, color, quantity and date it was to be droped by one of either the owner or office manager, so how and why should i have payed $1000.00 for replaceing shingles that were ordered with the wrong color? Isn't that what they have insurance for?
I was given a nextel phone when i began working for this company. They already had several contracts with this company. I only had to purchase the phone and in fact i did. I payed $150.00. For the phone, then the monthly bill when it came due would be paid by me. Which was fine, but the phone bill was taken after my hours and ammount of pay was sent to the accountant.
So she for example figured my hours x my hourly rate of pay deducted the taxes medicare social security and fica then sent it back to them then they deducted the phone bill, and whatever backcharges they had found my responceable for. But on my w2 tax form i had to claim all the money turned in to the accouniant. When actually they kept portions of it.
