I initiated a furntiure loan on 1-20 of $2459.70, and agreeded to terms with GE Money Bank for 12 months interest free loan. Payment due date was set for the 19th of every month, first payment being Feb. 19. I made all my payments early and did not notice that Ge Money Bank had changed the payment date in November to the 14th of every month. Then changed it again in Dec. To the 15th of the month.
Being fully aware that the loan balance was due in January, I called Ge Money Bank to request payoff date. A representive of thier company told me the payoff due date was Jan. 21, in which I documented on the bill and on my desk calender. Having Platinum Credit and wanted to mail the payment early on Jan. 17, to insure payment was recieved by Jan. 21.
Ge Money Bank is now telling me they did not receive my payoff balance of $1409.70 until Jan. 24 and I still owe them $578.98, because they did not receive the payment until Jan 24. I have since talked to the USPS and they said it takes 3 days for a letter to get to Orlando, Fla. It is in my firm belief that they did not post my payment until the 24, in order to charge this excessive interest rate. Why would I be late to the payoff this loan and cost myself nearly $600.00? I would not!
I am not the first one this has happened to in dealing with this fraudulent GE Money Bank Company. I will be turning over all the letters, including my own to the Arkansas, Florida and Federal US Attorney General's office's, including those letters from LansingSucks.com and hopefully someone will do something for the Honest Consumer for a change. If you have any other information please send it to me at [email protected]. I have been Ripped Off. If there are any Attorneys out there Please Help all of us.
