Medical Claims And Billing Courses money grubbing leeches ripoff

After having my second child I decided to do something about furthering my education. With my first child two and very clingy to mommy I needed to find something that I could do at home. So, in the package that the hospital gave me when I left I found a leaflet for PCDI (Professional Career Development Institue)

After searching through various "colleges" such as this one, I decided that PCDI was the best, cheapest, and the representitives were extremely friendly and helpful. So I enrolled in their Medical Claims and Billing courses for $5.00 down and a $24.00 shipping and handling fee.

I was going out of town for a week with no one to pick up my mail soon afterwards, so wanting to get the books and materials as quickly as possible I authorized an electronic check for them to be taken out for the following Saturday. MY father-in-law had a heartattack the next day and we ended up going to Louisiana earlier than expected so while there I called PCDI and asked them if there was any way possible that I could cancel that check and set it to come out of my account for the next Saturday after that. The man being very friendly offered his condolences to my circumstances and said that it would be handled.

Needless to say I was quite surprised when I received my books the day that the check was supposed to come out of my account. Then I started receiving notices from my bank stating that I had bounced a few checks. Knowing that this was impossible because I had put enough money in the account to cover them I asked for a list of items withdrawed from my account.

Seeing that PCDI had not canceled the check I was furious, I never having bounced a check before in my entire life and having a good name at my bank for that reason, called PCDI to see what had been going on. COme to find out PCDI had not canceled the first check they had enrolled me in the course all over again. So now I was enrolled in the same course twice. (surely the reps can't be that moronic to believe that the same person would want to do that).

I was told that the second check would be deauthorized and would not come out of my account. SO i decided to let things go (even though I would have to pay the $17 charge for the bounced checks). Well it being near the holidays I wrote more checks and needless to say PCDI did not cancel the second check either. They took it out of my account (BTW I never received the books that I ended up paying for with the second account haha) anyways causing a total of 5 checks to bounce. Making the grand total of checks bounced now 7.

This was around the time hurricane Katrina hit and I have a lot of friends and family there that were effected by it. SO I was helping them out as much as possible. Which made money tight around my house. SO now angry and deciding to myself that I was going to receive my money back (not being unreasonable at all I'm still enrolled) for the fee's incurred because of the first check clearing early and all the charges for the checks bounced. Plus my money for the second PCDI check and all checks bounced because of that one.

I called PCDI and after being on the phone on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes I finally got a hold of a representitive. SHe told me that I would have to have my bank fax them a copy of my statement so that the charges could be reviewed. Then I would be returned all money decided was owed to me because of PCDI.

After two weeks of not hearing anything I called back (another hour long wait on hold) and was told that my bank never faxed the statement. So again I called and had by bank fax PCDI my statement. Another two weeks and no word so I decided that I would take a few pointers from my father (sales reps nightmare) and DEMAND my account to be looked into. I was told that it was under review at that very moment.

Needless to say one month afterwards I finally received a check from PCDI in the amount of $29.00 far from what I see they owe me.

Do not give pcdi your account number!

It's a mistake that I have learned the hard way.
They are a complete rip off
