Don't fall for this one like I did! I'm a senior in college and consider myself to be quite the consumer advocate. I received a call from this guy with an eastern accent day after thanksgiving. Telling me that I was chosen to recieve a "special" government grant for college students. He told me it was 12,500 and that all I had to do was front 49.95 for processing.
Well, that much money sounds great to a college student that's gone without government assistance for the last 7 years. He told me that I would be receiving some government documents in the mail within 5 business days. It all sounded great to me, most of the government people I've talked to in the last few years have sounded just like him, bored, uneducated, and tired. Turns out I never received any mailing from them. Then about 12 days later they charged my account again for $300. I'm going to the bank tomorrow (right when they open) to close my account and file a fraud report. I got scammed by them, and well, my fiance' is a lawyer for a well known law firm. So, rest assured, you guys will get what's coming to you - the fullest extent of the L A W. I hope you guys rot in hell. To everyone else: Have a merry Christmas!
