I got an email from Linda Alster, calling herself the Acquisitions Manager at Advertmarketing, on 10th November. She said in her email that she has a buyer for my timeshare unit at Wyndham Palms Country Club and Resort and asked me to call her or give her my number if I was interested in selling.
Since I was looking to sell my timeshare, I called back and spoke to a woman who called herself Lynn Doyle. She said that they are having a whole month full of presentations and sale of timeshare going that November and would like to present my timeshare because it has gold crown ranking and they already have people asking for it.
There was to be a charge of 300$ with a guarantee that the money would be refunded if they didn't sell my timeshare in 6 months and that I would have to sign some paper and fax it to her. She faxed about 10 sheets with information about them and their sale schedule and stuff and also the form along with it.
Needless to say, I wanted to give it a shot and gave her my credit card number, signed the form and faxed it back to her. 3 months later, I saw my credit card was charged another amount of 150$. So I emailed to them asking them to cancel the charge and also asked them about the sale of the timeshare.
They sent me a reply saying they would take care of it as soon as possible. Now 6 months later, I went back to check on my credit card bills and realised that they hadn't given me back my fraudulently charged 150$.
So I called them up, both on their toll free number and their other number and it says it has been disconnected. Also the website is no longer running and the email address no longer exists.
Thanks to Google search and consumer complaintss, I now know that I was scammed. This is the first time I have been taken for a ride and it makes me sick to the stomach, literally. I sincerely hope and pray that they get caught and we get our money back.
