If this recruiter EVER contacts you, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
She hunted me down like a bloodhound. I began replying very nonchalantly, indicating that I had expectations and requirements that must be met for my next career move. I informed her I had wasted enough time dealing with recruiters attempting to contact me to "fill a seat, " that unless the position she ocntacted me about was what I wanted, I was not interested.
After going back and forth for a week, and because she needed to "get people in the door" at this company in Reston "Information Experts, " I was told finally that they were an ideal company and the position was an exact match to my credentials, that the company really was not looking to pay in my salary range, but they would consider it for the right candidate. She wanted mr to interview within 3 HOURS NOTICE. When I told her "no, I cannot pull myself together on this short of notice" (mind you, it was not necessary for me to tell this woman I had another interview that day as most people do not EXPECT you to interview on notice), she got an instant attitude, then stating she would contact them and get a new time frame.
She then e-mails me from then on, not giving me the same courtesy of a telephone call as in previous days, and tells me they will interview me that Friday. Each time I replied to her e-mails, it often took days or hours to hear back, and often my telephone rang at 8-9 in the evenings due to the fact she was a consultant, screwing off during the day, then inconveniencing people in the evenings.
I get to the company and was greeted by a very unprofessional woman, stating she did not have time to interview that day, and had "other things to do." She was very RUDE, and SQUARE, and I maintained my professionalism for the duration of the interview. I was ultimately discriminated against for no reason other than the fact that my appearance is better than hers. The owner of the place stated he thought the interview went very well, and she returned prior to my leaving to snarl once more at my presence.
The position was NOT AS STATED, and it was a complete waste of my time. Add to this, I did not receive the COURTESY of a follow up, as most HR PROFESSIONALS so... But these are the key words... SHE IS NOT PROFESSIONAL! I am thinking of filing suit, as it is unlawful to discriminate. Though I was not interested in the position once arriving, I spent two hours of my valuable time because of her LACK OF SKILL TO MATCH QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WITH THE RIGHT POSITIONS. Hello? Experienced administrative professionals do not want a front line position as a receptionist. I could wring this woman's neck!
Bottom line: She will hunt you down until she gets what she needs out of the deal then drop you like a hot potato. Stay away from people tactics... What a joke for a company name!
