On 7-18 I noticed a charge for 9.95 from a company called Mac-Cee on my credit card. I had never heard of this company and so I called the credit card company and all they could tell me that it was for Internet services. Mac-Cee is not an Internet provider where I live and I did not get any service from them. I changed the number on my credit card and had the charge rescinded. I found the personal information of the man behind this scheme posted on his online resume.
I called and confronted him and he admitted he was Mac-Cee and had been under investigation in the past and then hung up on me. I have filed police reports, reports with the NY and Ohio Attorney General's Offices and with the Federal Bureau of Consumer Fraud.
My advice is to use law enforcement to get these guys. They don't take one 9.95 charge seriously but if they are inundated with numerous filings they will do something - as in prosecuting the perps.
