Anderson, Crenshaw, & Associates contacted us about a security system that we had with Protect America. We canceled it several months prior to their contact. They acted like they were lawyers and demanded we pay $1400 by 5:00 the next day. Like the average family, that is impossible! We set up a payment method. They told us the only way we could pay would be for them to debit our account twice a month for 3 months. The amount would be $240.50 twice a month. We made a couple of payments, then finally sent in a payoff check. We notified them of our intentions and told them to stop debiting out of our account. A month later, they debited $240.50. We called them and made them aware of the situation. They wanted us to send them a copy of the check that they took out of our account. We did as they asked, despite the fact they were extremely rude and made it quite obvious that they didn't care one way or the other.
After we fought with them on the phone numerous times, they told us they would have a check in the mail and to expect it within 1 - 2 weeks. 2 weeks came by, and nothing in the mail. We contacted them once again. I had left a message on a website about how bad this company was, and apparently a company found it. This company was interested in signing up with them until they read what I had said. They were mad so they said we had to send a copy of the payoff check. We did as they asked. We called them a couple of days later, and they said a check was in the mail. We waited 2 weeks, and still nothing in the mail. We called them a little over a week ago, and they said they did mail the check. They said they were going to stop payment on the check and mail us another one. Well after 3 months of fighting with this extremely rude company, I received a check in the mail today. I will never do business with anyone that is associated with Anderson, Crenshaw, & Associates.
I notified the attorney general of their actions. I also had my lawyer getting ready to check into it. And of course, I turned them into the Better Business Bureau. Take this as advice... Before you sign a contract, find out who a company is associated with. If they're associated with Anderson, Crenshaw, & Associates, I would think twice before signing a contract. There are many other companies that are much better to deal with. I don't want anyone to go through the hassle and harrassment that I went through. They better be glad I received a check. I know my legal rights, and I was about to put them into action!!
