Sweepstakes Clearing House ripoff, fraud and misleading

I'm glad I found this website. I found it last night be accident when I was looking up information on Sweepstakes Clearing House after I got an e-mail back from Publisher's Clearing House stating that they are not the same company. Which lead me to believe that they sold my name to them without telling me first.

My mailbox has been packed with mail from them. The first mail I got was that I one a consolation price in there ten million dollar sweepstakes and they gave me a vocher for $400. I though nothing of it so i picked out the 3 in 1 camera. I had to pay $149.95 for it so i sent them a check on April 3. It was awhile, but I finaly recieved the camera and when it came it was COD. I had to pay $24.85 on April 30. I made out a check to pay for it, because I didn't have the cash.

When I made out the check it was to allied marketing and not to Sweepstakes Clearing house. When I finally opened the package I thought it was odd to have another $400 certificate in it. That one I didn't cash in I let it expire past the date. When I got to looking at the camera it wasnt what I thought it was. It was small like I wanted, but had no flash on it so i can't take pictures indoors unless I have a lot of light.

So basically the camera is an outdoor camera and no where on the flyer did it say it was for outdoors only. It said an outdoor/indoor camera. Then when I was looking up the specs on the video part they were bad. If I use lo-res I only get 15 min of video and who has just 15 min of something they want to record.

So basically it is a camera. Most of the software that came with it were pretty good. I havent tried them all yet. I was thinking of sending it back to get my money back, but after reading several reports I don't think I would ever see my money for it. So I count it as a loss to me and desided to keep it rather than risk not seeing the money back for it. Plus no where I could find is how they would want it sent back and how to assure they got it. They could always say they never got it and just pocket the money I paid.

The next thing I wanted to mention is I got the thing on the tv, but it made me think I never entered a sweepstakes for it so I never acted on it. I'm glad I never did after reading the reports on it. The other thing I did get was that paper that looks like an irs form wanting $5 to file. That made me think so I never acted on it. I'm glad I found this website before they took me for anymore of my hard earned money.

I just wished I could find a way that I could make sure if I write them to be taken off their mailing list that it would work. I'm so tired of coming home from work with more mail from them.
