I attended Eton Technical Institute, now Bryman College in Port Orchard WA from Feb. 2004 thru Dec. 2004. I graduated from there as a Medical Assistant. I decided to attend Bryman after I watched the commercials on TV. They run those damn commercials every 10 minutes. So I decided I would do it. They were very eager to sign me up. I had not even $1 when I went into the school, and the same day I was enrolled. I was promised job placement after my program.
They never once told me that my credits could not be used in another program at a real college for a nursing degree. I was placed in the worst enternship ever. I did nothing there not even one blood draw or any injections. It was at the Bremerton Naval Hospital. After I completed my enternship I went to my graduation ceremony a few weeks later. I talked to many students there that hadn't found jobs yet and no assistance from the program to find them jobs. I tried to take my credits to a local community college and they refused my credits for a nursing degree. I am now $6000 in debt and I have to start paying my student loans in July, and I do not know what I am going to do.
If I had known that I would be this far in the hole with no job I would have never gone to this school. It costs $750 for a CNA certificate which only takes 3 months. I would not advise any person to go to these schools. I wish that I had investigated them before hand. I also thought that I would automatically be certified but that is not the case either.
The only thing positive about the situation was my instructor Jaun LaBoy, and Sheila Austing Director of Education. I wouldn't have even made it through this program if it wasn't for them. My instructor was very smart and taught me alot of procedures and documentation. He was very caring, and thoughtful, which I thank him for. Bryman College is a ripoff so please take my advise and go to a real school where you will get a real education.
