John Gold of JEL Institute asked me to provide the service of network administrator for his company. He agreed to pay me 5.00 per student for all continuing education sale that were made to pay for my services. During my time at JEL Institute, I noticed several Issues that appalled me. Clients would call into JEL Institute and ask about the current status of their CE exam.
The usual practice is to inform the client that their information has been submitted to Experior (The state testing agency in SC,) and that they would see it in a few days. This was usually a lie. JEL has to pay for each student that has purchased and passed the CE exam. This would not be a problem because the student pays in advance for the CE exam and submission to the state.
Unfortunately, JEL Institute has poor accounting practices. The money would be spent before the student's information was submitted to Experior. This would prevent JEL Institute from paying Experior the required fee for the student's information to be submitted. I personally witnessed Nancy Gold (John Gold's daughter,) tell clients on several occasions that there information was submitted to Experior when the student's records were not inputted in to the Easybank software for processing.
There was also issues with compensation to me for services to there products, website and computers. Their website www.jelinstitute.com, www.jelce.com, http://jelce. Serveftp.com, were personally designed and updated to allow students to purchase e-books as well as download CE information from their website. I also created the shopping cart script that is being used to purchase these items.
Also my company (Baylora Technologies,) maintained their network and database share. I had to ghost al 12 of the computers because of numerous spyware and virus issues.in addition to the 12 office computers I fixed 3 of their home systems as well.in addition to the computers that I repaired, I also redesigned their student CDs and created e-books for use by the students. All of this work required many hours of time on my part.
While I was working on all of these projects I requested payment for commission due every two weeks. Each email was unanswered. So I started to send faxes to John Gold. Each time that I would get in contact with him he would tell me that Nancy would be bring my check. When she arrives at the office. Nancy never brought a check with her. I also sent bills to their payment service (Paypal,), which they promptly canceled. They refused to pay the bill but continue to use my website and sell e-books to the students. I sent my final bill on January 11 asking for payment and for JEL Institute to stop using my materials until the bill was paid. That bill was canceled as well and they are still using my work to make money.
Do not use JEL Institute for anything. They not pay for CE credits in a timely fashion, or Pay for the materials that they are using to make money now.
Any help getting my money would be appreciated.
