Appliance Discounters sold me a refridgerator that did not work. They sent out a technician who replaced the "booster". Two months later the fridge stopped working again. I lost over $150 worth of food. This time they took the whole fridge into their shop for "repairs". The fridge worked when it returned but made a very loud noise. I didn't complain because I had already been w/o a fridge for 4 days. Then the fridge broke down again about a month later. This time the 90 day warranty had expired. They refused to replace it or refund my $. They offered to "repair" it again for a fee. Four months and two repairs and they thought i would actually pay them to not repair it again!!!
i had another repairman come out. He siad that the compressor was shot and not worth repairing, how come Appliance Discounters repairmen didn't catch this? Furthermore the fridge was missing the part they had replaced the first time they "repaired" it!!! The repairman said the wireing was weird, like they had rigged it so that it would work temporarily, probably the source of the loud noise after repair #2. The worst part is that I they have a provision on the BACK OF THE RECEIPT (which of course you don't see until after you've made the purchase) that ypu cannot sue, you have to go through arbitration through the BBB or another arbitration service. Of course how can this help if they fail to respond!!!
These guys are the slum lords of appliances preying on the poor who lack the means to purchase a new appliance or fight back if they purchase a lemon. AVOID APPLIANCE DISCOUNTERS! Caveat emptor! Buyer beware!
