I responded to an Ad on craigslist titled "Carrier 4 Ton A/C Make me an Offer (626 404 3245)"
talked to Jim on the phone and negotiated a price and asked if he could install the A/C unit as well. He said that he can and set an appointment to meet me. We made arrangements I paid him with a check for $1100 for 50% of the cost and scheduled the work to be completed the next day.
He obviously didn't show but kept in touch with various excuses on why there was a delay.in the meantime he went to a check cashing store to cash my check. They called to verify that the check was legit. I gave him ample chances to come clean and give me my money back and warned that I will called the authorities to seek justice. I didn't know what to do until I came across another complaint that had his parole officer name by the name of Javier Matta from El Monte Corrections 626-527-3005... I quickly found out that his case was moved to another agent in the same division named Rick Nava and that's who helped me throughout to file a criminal complaint. What he did to me was a clear parole violation and the authorities arrested him... He has been sitting in prison since approximately october/ november and got a 12 month sentence (unless he'll get an early release).
Throughout my dealing with agent nava i found out that he was sitting in prison for 6 months and was just released about 2 weeks prior to scamming me. This is obviously a repeat offender stay away from him or anything he tells you. He has a quiet soft spoken demeanor and comes off as very knowledgeable about heating and air conditioning.By the few other reports that I read here this guy has been doing this to many others. Thanks to Ripoff report and the help of the El Monte Correctional Department I was able to seek justice and prevailed.
