When purchasing new furniture, the salesperson offers a full replacement 7 year warranty for another $199.00. Sounds like a good deal and you add it to the purchase price because you want to protect your $2500.investment. The salesperson does not tell you that you have to report any defect within 5 days. You don't find that out till you call to make a claim.
When the leather wears you don't make a claim usually because it is not significant at the time, but with gradual wear and tear ahd defect becomes larger and then you report it. Because one does not want to be petty over a small problem until it becomes more noticeable. It probably is not the warranty coverage persons fault as it is the salesperson who fails to tell you the minor 5 day report issue. The salesperson is out to make commission on their sales and don't want to disclose that. As far as I am concerned it is a waste of money to buy the warranty. Save your money or flush it - because you probably won't report it in five days.
