We installed Marvin windows in our new construction 4 years ago. Our house was built very air tight and have an air exchanger system running.in the winter our windows have horrid condensation that ices up in colder weather. We have been running our exchanger on high during the very cold days and this leaves us with an extremely uncomfortable humidity of 25%.
This does not take care of the water on the windows. When we complained to Marvin, they told us the humidity level was too high and it is the consumers responsiblilty to keep the level low. Hello!!! 25% is so low that our sheet rock screws are starting to pop and our furniture is drying out! When you place your hands by the windows, you can feel a leak... Don't even get me started on the patio door... We have friends who have built homes using less "reputable" windows and do not have this issue.
Our only recourse at this time is to replace these windows (one at a time as we have alot of windows) as I am getting sick and tired of having to refinish them every spring. Anyone else have this problem?
