Believing COSTCO offers great deal and would only offer something that was an exceptional opportunity or they would not sign their name to it I was shocked to uncover a real and Nationwide scam.in fact, I believe this could cost COSTCO a fortune in class action lawsuits.
First... I have been in sales for years. I know the dog and pony show, I know the bait and switch game, so I required multiple bids and I was very careful to get all the bids in "like kind" product even if they were different product lines and name brands etc...
The bids had a reasonable range in price but nothing to high or too low. And then I walked past the COSTCO kiosk offering a super deal on a new system giving 2500 dollars in savings! Great! I filled out the form and they sent someone out.
The rep refused to offer me a reasonable replacement.instead he insisted on selling me an orange... A two step system for 12K! I told him I wanted an apple, like all the other reps had recommended and he refused. I believe it is because he knew with giving COSTCO their cut it would be obvious that they would not be competitive.
I called COSTCO and informed them and Marilee Miller put me in touch with Dustin Harper. Harper tried to convince me that the new offer the company got giving me the apple I requested in the first place and still hundreds over the offer I got from the other company selling the EXACT SAME EQUIPMENT AND GRADE and all other details equal was the best they could do even after the discounts!
My contention is that if you offer someone a $1500 Lennox rebate, $1000 cash card from COSTCO your total should be SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER than the competition.
They have all kinds arguements and excuses but I think everyone that ever bought a system through them is due a lot of money. The rep told me they sell 15 to 19 systems PER DAY in my area! That means people are buying blindly based on trust of COSTCO because no one would pay 4k more for a new system when it is unnecesary. I do not live in a rich area!
What I expected was a like kind bid and then discounts.instead COSTCO gets their cut and FH Furr gets their full price and a great deal with HOME DEPOT and COSTCO exclusives and the consumer pays the for it.
Please do not be beguiled, manipulated or fooled by COSTCO and their vendors! Buyer beware!
