Barker Real Estate is owned and operated by Mary Barker of Cherokee, Texas. Mary appears to be a "sweet little old lady" but looks are very deceiving. I had her "help" in 2 instances (simultaneously) where she had me rent from landlords that were very shady characters and reported to the state for severe code violations.
The 2nd home is being condemned for electrical wiring faults that the city deemed "waiting for a fire to happen". Mary is just out to get her commission on anything she does and does not care about anyone's health or safety, including those of children since I have a child who was just as at-risk as me for living in this home. Mary cheats other agents from there well-deserved commissions by going behind their backs to make the sale that *they* initiated.
Mary also lies about most everything. She had us move into the 2nd home for a small amount of rent which increased 3x as much in 2 weeks, leaving us in a very bad financial position to pay.
I warn ANYONE dealing with Barker real estate. Check out her references through various other professionals in town. There are many more legitimate realtors in this area. Do NOT go through BARKER REALTY.
