I bought a queen size foam type bed from them in 2007. I after a year or so I noticed it was a little lop-sided on my side of the bed. It was bad enough for me to complain to the company. They sent an inspector out who did more of a comprehensive investigation than the government would do... Pictures, measurements etc. Nice enough fellow but of course gave no feedback on what he found.
After a week or two we got in touch with customer service (if you can call it that) and they informed me the findings were... Nothing wrong with the mattress but the box-spring was damaged. Apparently the support rail cracked. Ok they will replace it for free. GREAT NEWS right... Wrong they wanted $90 to deliver it. I expressed my displeasure and after a little bickering I accepted a comprise delivery price of $50 (if I remember correctly).
Any way the reason for this GRIPE...
It happened again. I can feel the split on the support rail so I called Sleepy's again. They set up an appointment and the same fellow came by and took the pictures and all...
Called them a couple of days later as was informed they will not be honoring the guarantee. It seems that when I put some 4 inch blocks (store bought by the way) under the 5 bed frame supports to raise it (so my old pooch could more easily get under)
This voided my guarantee.
Yes yes every one who hears this says the same thing, are they nuts? How did you change the laws of physics by raising the bed equally on all five posts?
So ladies an gentlemen, Stay away from Sleepy's, and get a good night's rest.
Sleepless in Bellmore.
