This happend to me in 2008. My wife booked A-TRANS MOVERS From NJ. I just let her handle finding a company. Well when they showed up to my home in Massachusettes in a Budget truck with Jersey Plates I had a bad feeling. We paid them to dissasemble and pack things for us. Then opon arrival they would carry things back into my new place and set it up. They put green stickers on all my stuff. So I THOUGHT all my stuff would make it. WRONG! Oh yeah the guys that showed up asked my wife for a tip for there work, wich is ok, i guess. BUT they asked her when i was in the other room. Which Pissed me off!
So whatever me and my girlfriend were goning to start a new life in Colorado, we where pumped to hit the road, We got to Vail in three days. After like 15 days without a phone cal, l I started to worry. All we had was a computer a pillow and my guitar. It sucked. I tried to contact them which i did eventually. They said they where broke down in Pa. Which was concerning because thert where still on the East Coast. And last time i checked Pa. Was not on the way to Colorado.
Then we talked to a new guy. Who seemed nice. He said now HE had our stuff and apologized. He said he didnt like dealing with these guys, and he was sorry. My stuff had changed hands three times. The company that ended up with my stuff took over 30 days. Yes i slept on the floor for a month with no clothes, furniture... Nothing! When The one truck driver showed up with a huge rigg. I was sooooo pumed finnally my stuff was here! But no.
The nightmare continued. He refused to drive down my road because of Snow! Although I PAYED FOR THEM TO MOVE IT OUT. Then move it in and rebiuld the stuff the took apart. Nope to bad for me. He wouldnt even drive it to my new place. So we met him on the side of the road a mile away. He would not open the door till we paid him in full. Which was like another 1,500 bucks. Once we payed him he open the door. Most of my stuff was broke. They put screws into the TOP OF MY KITCHEN TABLE. So the could "secure it" Oh Yeah. Remember the green stickers? My mountain bike and grill where replaced with a shitty bike and grill. Wth new green stickers on them. So he dropped all my stuff on the side of the road. Still wrapped in moving blankets. Did i mention it was snowing. All over my couches. I didnt know anyone in colorado. So me and my girlfriend he to make like 50 trips with our jeep to get our stuff home. At night.By the time we got it all in our couches were soaked. So we paid them do bring our stuff to our new house the the side of the road a mile away.
This company put us through HELL. Total RIPPOFF This happened in 2008. I am still pissed!
