This is a complaint and a search for help. I thought other people should be aware of the enviroment this company provides.
My family lives in Iowa. There is a lot of new construction around their home. When framing of a new home across the street began the construction works came to my family's door and said they could not park in the street because they needed to park their vehicles there. My family tried to comply but being a multi-car family they did park vehicles in the street. Mind you they do pay taxes for that street and anyone can park on the street for 24 hour increments.
Anyway, when my family parked their vehicles in the street the construction workers shouted obscenities at them. This has continued for MONTHS! They even located were one family member works and have gone to his place of employment and harrassed him. These construction workers are men in their 40s!
So as the story goes, one day a family member had "had it" with these guys and peeled out when he pulled out of his parking spot on the street. This in turn threw some rocks on the framers vehicles. When this family member returned home the men approached him in my family's front yard. After a heated exchange, another family member entered the situtation. This was apparently just in time since one of the framers went to hit the original family member in the face. The second family member stuck his hand up to block it and broke two fingers. Then the other two framers grabbed him (the second family member) and held him down so the other man could beat him. An elderly neighbor heard the noise outside and saw the whole thing. Two other family members were also at home and rushed outside while calling 911.
When the police came they refused to file a police report stating they would have to charge my family members with various crimes. No report was filed! The General Contractor, Star Homes, Inc dba Precision Walls and Concrete, refuses to accept liability for this incident. I have the owners name, home address, telephone numbers, his wife's name, dobs, ect. Already.
I find this whole thing utterly unbelievable. Should I contact the County Attorney, Secretary of State, or who? There are definate criminal charges I would think if not Civil. Any suggestions?
